May 2023
God has given us a tremendous April of worship. The choir cantata, "Jesus Saves" on April 2nd, a beautiful Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday the 9th complete with a great morning worship service, the call of our new Worship Leader, Marc Richey, on the 16th and our Organ and Piano concert on the evening of the 23rd. We capped off the month on Saturday the 29th with a workday at church beautifying the landscaping and continuing repairs on our basement. God poured out His blessing upon us in April!
Now we enter May. The tree have put out their leaves, flowers are blooming, and the days and nights are warm again. We are looking forward to a great May as well. We complete our series, "Missing God's Blessings" on May 7th and on May 14th we honor and celebrate our mothers for Mother's Day.
We have two events to announce this month. On Friday, May 19th we will show the movie, "Jesus Revolution" in our Fellowship Hall. We invite you to bring your folding chair and join us as we recall the Jesus movement of the 70s and are challenged to take the gospel to those we may not like but God loves. Then on Sunday evening, May 21 at 6pm, our friend, Oprah Cooper will present a concert. Oprah is originally from Burundi, Africa. She lives here in Campbellsburg and worship with us faithfully. I hope you'll come and be blessed by her music and testimony.
We'll round out the month on Memorial Day Sunday with a special service to honor and remember our fallen veterans who served our country in the armed forces of the United States of America.
We'll also see the end of some activities.
n Wednesday, May 17th we'll have our final session of Team Kid/Team Youth. We'll grill some hotdogs, serve all the fixin's and soft drinks and we'll close out another season of this great event. This will be the final night of Team Kid and Team Youth a program the church has offered for 26 years. But ending TK/TY doesn't mean we'll stop discipling children and youth on Wednesday evenings. We're working on a new program for this fall's Wednesday sessions. We plan to preview the new sessions on the 17th as well as recognize our graduates.
Our studies in Esther will be ending this month as well. Since January our ladies have met on Tuesday mornings and evenings to study the Book of Esther. We'll announce a new study as soon as we can.
Spring consists of old endings and new beginnings and we've got lots planned for this coming year.
We continue to live stream each week on Facebook, and our Google site. If you are unable to attend in person, we invite you to watch our broadcast live on Sunday mornings. In addition we rebroadcast an edited version of the morning worship service several times a week. Please be sure to tune in and please, let us know you're watching.
There's lots going on at Campbellsburg Baptist Church! God is moving and we're on the go and on the grow. Come be a part of an exciting church that loves God and loves each other!
