February 2023
Hello to the "love" month. Christians celebrate love all year around because of the great love of our Savior, Jesus Christ. No one before Jesus, or after Jesus has demonstrated love for everyone like Jesus Christ does. He and the Father love you and they want to be your friend. You hold the key to that friendship. Jesus has done everything necessary for there to be no barriers to being friends with Him. You have to but believe He is who He says He is, and that He did what He said He's done. It's as easy as A - B - C.
A - admit that you mess up...on a regular basis
B - believe that Jesus is God and that He gave His life to pay for your mistakes
C - commit yourself to follow Him every moment of your life.
Do those three things and your record of mistakes will be wiped clean, the Father says He will remember them no more. It's pretty easy to accept Christ as Savior but it takes a lifetime to try and live according to His example. That why one must commit to follow His ways...otherwise you're just trying to game the experience.
We're thinking about love in many ways this month. During the Morning Bible Study time we've begun a new small group that is studying the book by Dr. Gary Chapman, "The Five Love Languages." We're offering the study at 10:00 AM on Sundays and we're livestreaming it too! All of us have a way we want to show love and to be shown love. That's your "love language". Just like it's near impossible to communicate with someone who speaks a language other than English, it's just as impossible to express love unless you know the other person's love language. Join us in person or online at 10:00 AM Sundays to learn what the Five Love Languages are and which one is yours!
In our Morning Worship Service at 11:00 AM this month we'll be looking at God's Caring Love for us. Jesus cares about you and what you're going through. We'll look for examples that demonstrate this truth each Sunday this month.
We're loving your children Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM as we continue our 26th year of teaching the children of our community about God's love. There's Team Kid for the children and Team Youth for youth so please come and join us !
On Saturday, February 11 at 5:00 PM we're hosting the 2nd Annual Victuals with the Vicar. We'll have a delicious supper at 5:00 PM. At 6:00 PM we have dance instructor, Kelby Hammond, coming to teach us some basic waltz steps followed by a free time of dance. Then, for the more adventurous, she'll teach some Salsa steps. It's all available to you at no cost so come on out and have a nice evening of great food and this year, ballroom dancing. Please call or email the church to let us know you're coming!
There is a lot happening at CBC. I've just scratched the surface. People are coming to learn about God and His word. We'd love to have you join us!
